Matt Keightley is an accomplished and Award Winning Garden Designer with over 12 years’ of experience in the Landscaping industry and a BA (Hons) degree in Landscape Design, earning himself a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting garden designers.
He made waves within the landscaping industry in 2014 when, as a debutant to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, he was awarded with the RHS Silver-Gilt Medal and the highly acclaimed BBC People’s Choice Award for Best Show Garden for his Help for Heroes Show Garden, dedicated to the wounded men and women of the armed forces.
One year later, this time working with Prince Harry for his charity Sentebale, Matt’s ‘Hope in Vulnerability’ Show Garden was awarded another Silver-Gilt Medal and achieved the quite remarkable feat of being awarded the BBC People’s Choice Award for Best Show Garden for the 2nd year running.
Growing up in Richmond Upon Thames, South-West London, his early career was centred on the contemporary urban gardens of Greater London, Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham. With large recent commissions in the countryside of the South of England, it is Matt’s ability to produce ambitious and innovative contemporary garden design, as well as the classical elegance fitting of country estates, that really makes him such a versatile and creative garden designer.
He prides himself on his personable, customer focused approach, producing garden designs that truly understand and reflect the ideas, motivations and inspirations behind the brief. His personable character and extensive horticultural knowledge was reflected in his appearance as a guest presenter on the BBC at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show and as a guest speaker at numerous RHS seminars for prospective Chelsea Flower Show exhibitors.
